From November 28th to 30th, the Peruvian Alliance of Cultural Organizations (APOC) will hold its 6th National Encounter of Culture in Chimbote, under the theme “Cultural Governance, Participation and Citizenship”.
This will be a very special edition for me as director of Asociación Civil Solar, the organization that has served as Technical Secretary of the APOC since its foundation on august of 2017, and that was previously in charge of coordinating the Decentralized Program of Pre/Encounters (2016-2017), a process that led eventually to APOC’s constitution.
The transference of the APOC’s technical secretariat will take place on November 30th, during the Closing Ceremony of the 6ENC, as two cultural organizations from Cusco and Trujillo take on this responsibility until 2021.
Since march of this year we have been preparing for this new stage of APOC. With this transference the Alliance aims to strengthen its integrity and its mechanisms for democratic representation and accountability. I look forward to this new stage, and will share some ideas on the importance behind this civic transference, in the next few weeks.

Entre el 28 y 30 de Noviembre, la Alianza Peruana de Organizaciones Culturales (APOC) organizará la sexta edición del Encuentro Nacional de Cultura (6ENC) en Chimbote, con el tema “Gobernanza Cultural, Participación y Ciudadanía”.
Esta será una edición muy especial para mí, como director de la Asociación Civil Solar, la organización que ha estado a cargo de la Secretaría Técnica de la APOC desde su fundación en agosto de 2019, y antes como Coordinadora Nacional del Programa Descentralizado de Pre/Encuentros (2016-2017), un proceso que eventualmente condujo hacia la constitución de la APOC.
La transferencia de la Secretaría Técnica de la APOC se llevará a cabo del 30 de noviembre durante la ceremonia de clausura del 6ENC, y dos organizaciones de Cusco y Trujillo respectivamente asumirán este rol hasta el 2021.
Desde marzo de este año nos venimos preparando para esta nueva fase de la APOC. Con esta transferencia la Alianza busca fortalecer su integridad, y sus mecanismos para la representación democrática y la rendición de cuentas. Veo con una expectativa esta nueva etapa, y compartiré algunas ideas sobre la importancia de esta transferencia cívica, en las semanas que vienen.
