I will be sharing works in progress: drawings, video, and installation fragments that reflect on the idea of New York as the “Capital of Culture,” and the tensions between that narrative and the conditions many artists and organizations navigate.
Developed during my residency at BricLab (@bricbrooklyn), the work follows a set of questions around how culture and arts are organized in the city: how artists, institutions, and policy frameworks intersect, and how those relationships are experienced on the ground.
