Last week, I had the pleasure of facilitating New Yorkers for Culture & Arts’ (NY4CA) annual Culture Retreat on Governors Island—their most well-attended retreat to date, bringing together more than 120 participants in person and online.

The day focused on moving from ideas to action (from what to how), with participants working together around three key areas: reforming municipal culture funding, artists’ health and well-being, and affordable space for artists and cultural organizations.
It was an energizing day, with strong participation and concrete conversations about priorities for the year ahead. I was glad to help design and facilitate a process that brought so many voices into the conversation and helped translate collective thinking into potential actions and policy priorities.
